Enough insanity! Here’s some more.

Here I am trying to sell my condo and getting nowhere. Maybe there is something to learn from these guys. I’ve compiled a list of outrageous but creative ways to make money which gave me an idea of my own.

Lunar Embassy
Dennis Hope I was watching a program about the moon and lunar exploration. Anyway, they featured a story about a guy names Dennis Hope and his ‘Lunar Embassy’. This guy sells land on the moon! As if that weren’t enough, people buy it. More than 300,000 people to be exact! Hope has made over $9 million selling paper that means NOTHING. Each lot costs about $30 and a long list of celebrities have reportedly purchased land which has increased in price! If this guy can sell a piece of the moon, I will sell shares of my condo! How about it? $35/share! Any buyers?

Million Dollar Homepage
Alex TewAlex Tew, a 21-year-old student from England started a web site selling pixels. At a dollar a pixel and with only word of mouth, Alex made $1,038,000.00 in less than 6 months. The key here was the novelty of the idea. The model has not been replicated successfully but the idea of selling web links on popular sites is always good. The appeal to buyers is to have participated in a unique event that made headlines. For webmasters, the value of a link from a site with a high page rank made it not only irresistible but a sound SEO strategy and business decision. By the way, I’ll give you a link from condofiasco if you buy a share :-)

One Red Paperclip
Kyle MacDonaldIn March of 2005 Kyle MacDonald started a 0n his way up from a red paperclip to a house. That was his goal and a year later he achieved it! His inspiration for the idea was a childhood game. He began promoting his idea with a free ad on Craigslist but after a few good trades he got tons of free publicity from CNN, ABC News, the BBC, and every other news source you can imagine. One year exactly is what it took.

So there… if these guys can do it why can’t I? Do you want to buy a piece of Miami for $35?  It’s actual real estate and you can get your money back later! May sound like a joke but I will do it.
