I Need An Agent
Hi,

I am looking for a real estate agent licensed in Florida. If you have not heard of me or CondoFiasco let me give you a brief introduction. Please read the entire letter or this will not make sense. In 2004 my wife and I made a $70k deposit on a pre-construction condo in Miami. The total cost of the unit is $355k. We never intended to close on the condo. Our plan was to sell it long before completion. Well, you probably know what happened. The market sank and now I’m in a tough situation. Come January, I have to decide whether I walk away from my deposit or close on the unit.

Anyway, what I need is professional. If I decide to close on the unit, I will need an agent to sell it for me later. I have tried to sell it on my own and failed. Now, before you pick up the phone and call me let me stop you. I am sick and tired of dealing with real estate agents. Ever since I went public with this whole thing, I’ve gotten so many calls from agents proposing to sell the unit for me. How do I decide who to hire? I have heard so many horror stories of sellers hiring agents who just sit around waiting like it’s a numbers game.

I need a pro-active agent who knows buyers!

I am sending out emails to as many agents as I can find and inviting ALL OF THEM to read this letter. That will probably be thousands of agents. Of course, I will ultimately choose only one agent. There is one way to get my business right away…show me a buyer! I won’t hold my breath. If you’ve read the rest of my blog, you’ll understand I don’t want to lose money with this deal. If my goal were to lose money I would just walk away from the deposit. But I want to hear from you. I want to see if there is an agent with the guts to take this on. But again, don’t call me. I couldn’t possibly sit and listen to a thousand agents…I don’t have that many minutes on my phone plan. I don’t care. But if you want my business be sure to give me compelling reasons. I will also let readers vote on who I should choose.

As you can imagine, this will be a lot of work for me. I will have to evaluate all these agents. So I will make this a little easier on myself and will filter only the serious applicants by charging $9.99 to be in the roster. “WHAT!?”, you might ask, “You want me to pay to be considered?” I figure, if an agent too cheap to pay $9.99 to get my business, then I don’t need them. Besides, getting exposure on my agent directory is worth much more than that anyway.
